Surinder Arora is a British-Indian entrepreneur and investor who founded Arora Group and serves as its executive chairman. He arrived in the UK as a teenager after leaving India and began working in the hospitality sector, including as a waiter in London. In 1999 he secured a contract to run a four-star hotel at Heathrow airport for airline crew, a pivotal step that laid the foundation for his future business. Under Arora’s leadership, Arora Group has grown from its hotel-near-airport origins into a broader investment business with hotel ownership, property development and a construction division. The group’s portfolio includes premium-brand hotels, airport-adjacent real estate and large-scale development assets. Arora’s strategy emphasises location-specific assets, operational management of hospitality businesses and long-term value growth in real estate. Beyond business, he and his wife founded the Arora Charitable Foundation, through which they support social-responsibility and education initiatives in the UK and overseas. Although he remains at the helm of the group, Arora is increasingly focused on long-term legacy, leadership succession and strategic expansion into mixed-use development and hospitality outside the UK. His journey from immigrant beginnings to a major property and hotel investor reflects an entrepreneurial mindset, operational discipline and a willingness to seize niche market opportunities.
